Authors, Creators and Ownership
Understand author definition, and the roles of creators and ownership in the PromptBros platform and how you can interact with them.
Authors
An Author is the user that created any Object in PromptBros. This can be a Prompt, Agent, Pack, Collection, Media or any other irrespectively of the User type (User, Creator, or Promoter) and the Content Type (free or monetisable). There is only a single Author per Object and this property is not transmissible.
Creators
A creator is a user who originates Monetisable content on the PromptBros platform. Creators play a significant role as they provide the various items that other users interact with, such as prompts, packs, collections, and agents.
Every item on the platform is owned by its Creator, who has the sole authority to set the options of an item, like Public, Collectable, and Featured.
Options for Creators
Creators have three main options they can apply to their items:
Public
Creators can set their items as Public, making them visible to all users on the platform. Public items can be viewed, rated, and can appear in the Library.
Public items can be viewed by anyone on the platform and are searchable. They can appear in the Library.
Collectable
Creators can also make their items Collectable, sharing ownership with other users. While this doesn't grant editing rights, it allows these users to access the item and receive any updates. This is especially useful for creators who want to share their content with a broad audience.
In the future, creators will be able to set a price in credits for Collectable items. For more details, please see the Credits and Payments page.
Featured
An item can be set as Featured by its creator. Featured items appear in the highlighted section of the user's Stage, giving them more visibility.
Featured items are always public. It's a great way to showcase your best work!
Access and Permissions
Access to items can be granted to any users (even unregistered ones) by providing them with the item's ID or a direct URL. This feature is handy for sharing items with others without making them public.
Share item IDs or direct URLs responsibly. Once shared, they can be accessed and further shared by anyone, even users external to the platform.
It's important to note that:
- Only the Creator of an item can make changes to it and share ownership with other users.
- The creator can make a previously public item private, but cannot remove ownership from users who are already owners.
Ownership
Ownership can be established in two ways: by creating an item (making you the Creator) or by viewing an item that was set as Collectable by its Creator.
Collectable Items
Collectable items can be owned by multiple users. A unique feature of our platform is that a user automatically becomes an owner by simply opening a Collectable item. Owners of a Collectable item can't make changes to it or alter its options, but they do have access to the item and receive any updates made by the Creator.
This way, a creator can share their work widely, and users can follow the development of the items they're interested in. The Collectable feature makes collaboration and sharing of resources easy and efficient on the platform.
